I want this website to be usable for everyone, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader or zoom. The goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What I do to make it accessible
- Black text on a white background, with strong contrast everywhere
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
- A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page
- Headings, lists and landmarks in the right order, so screen readers can navigate
- Every form field has a label, and errors are explained in words
- Decorative illustrations are hidden from screen readers
- Animations stop when you turn on "reduce motion" on your device
- Text can be zoomed to 200% without breaking the layout
Known issues
I am not aware of any accessibility problems at the moment. If you run into one, I would like to hear about it.
